What is it?

E-motion is a website set up to provide online emotional support for 11 to 25 year olds in South Cheshire (UK). It offers both e-mail support and online counselling to individuals who, for whatever reason, choose not to use our face-to-face service. The service is completely free and the information that is shared with our counsellors remains confidential except in exceptional circumstances (please refer to our terms and conditions for more information on this).

In setting up this service we believe that visyon will be able to support young people and young adults who would not usually use/have access to us. Some reasons why individuals may find it difficult to use our existing services are:

• They live in a rural area and are unable to get transport to one of visyon's counselling service bases
• They have a physical disability which makes it difficult/impossible for them to get to us
• They have other commitments/time limits that mean they wouldn't ordinarily seek counselling
• They have concerns, or fears, about approaching a counselling service
• Or they prefer chatting online
