Joining the “Friends of visyon” membership scheme

What would this mean to you?
As a Friend of visyon, you will receive:
• A quarterly newsletter
• Information about visyon events
• Voting rights at General Meetings, including the Annual General Meeting

What would this mean to visyon?
As a Friend of visyon you will help to:
• Expand and develop services to young people experiencing emotional difficulties
• Be part of the solid membership base
• Achieve a steady income stream
• Demonstrate to funding bodies the wide support for the organisation that exists in the community

How much will it cost?
For less that £1 per week, you can be instrumental in helping the work of
visyon. We would encourage you to make a regular quarterly donation of £12.50. If you were able to pay a higher subscription, we would be very grateful. Please download the application form, fill it in and send it to:

Being a Trustee

visyon is a charitable company which is managed by a Board of Directors, who are known collectively as the Board of Trustees. These are members of the community who volunteer to help decide what the organisation aims to achieve and how it will achieve it. They are responsible for making sure that
visyon fulfils its legal requirements, such as reporting to the Charity Commission and Companies House, employment issues, finance, health and safety. On the "About visyon" page, you will see who are the current trustees.

The commitment is to attend regular evening meetings, about once every 6 to 8 weeks, to prepare for those meetings and carry out any follow-up actions. In addition, if you have time, you can choose to join one of the sub-committees that oversee particular aspects of the organisation, such as the therapy, finance or personnel. You may decide that you have a particular interest, such as helping to find new premises for the organisation to operate from.

You will need to complete the Volunteer Application Form as well and we will look forward to hearing from you. Being a Volunteer

visyon has a team of volunteers who support the staff in a number of very useful ways: book-keeping, gardening; fundraising; representing the charity at events; sitting on the sub-committees of the board. All our volunteers are highly valued and the organisation could not run without them.

We offer out-of-pocket expenses, opportunities to take part in training and social events. All volunteers who are likely to come into contact with young people in their volunteering role will need to have a Criminal Records Check.
