What is counselling?

It is an opportunity to talk privately to someone outside your family and friendship group.

Talking can be a way of looking at difficult experiences, finding new ways of doing things or making sense of things in a new way.

It is about supporting people to find their own solutions.

It usually means meeting with a counsellor for an hour a week (some people come once, others a number of times).
