visyon limited (hereafter referred to as visyon ) at http://www.visyon.org.uk. It contains links to and from and information from other third parties. Many of these will have their own web sites and privacy statements. Where links are provided in the
visyon website to other web sites, those other web sites are not covered by this privacy statement.

visyon will take all reasonable steps within its capabilities, to comply with the laws of the United Kingdom, to ensure that your data is kept securely and to respect the information privacy of all visitors to its web site.

Data Collection

visyon collects personal information from visitors to the web site only with the permission of the individual in that by completing any online form or data-acquiring page within the web site, that person in doing so acknowledges that such information is being freely given in line with the purpose of its provision and the contents of this statement for specific use in their dealings with visyon. The scope of information gathered is generally "personal details" such as names, email address, telephone number, etc.

visyon's intention is that all data collection points and the information sought is open and obvious to the web site visitor. No information supplied online to visyon is knowingly made available to any third party.

Online Donations and Associated Data

In order to make an online payment or donation by credit or debit card, the site visitor will be directed to CAF, Easyfundraising (or from time to time other charity type funding web sites) via the appropriate link button. Information on the sum paid and its purpose will remain exclusively in the hands of such third party donation handling or funding web sites and v i s y o n. None of this data is passed to any other party under any circumstances.

Links & Listings

All links and listings given by visyon on their web site are made on the basis of usefulness and as a service to visyon web site visitors. They are made in good faith and on the basis that subsequent linking/listing is as intended on initial linking/listing in terms of matter or content and that the privacy of such links is subject to those web sites' own privacy statements.

visyon acknowledges United Kingdom Data Protection Act. You have a right to know about any personal data v i s y o n holds about you. You have a right to object to the receipt of direct marketing or campaign information sent to you via any means, and which appears to have originated from visyon. visyon does not believe that it has any formal obligation under this United Kingdom Act of Parliament, not being a designated public authority. However,
visyon does fully support the principle of openness and will endeavour to supply any information to legitimate enquirers whenever appropriate and/or possible except information concerning clients and their personal relationship with visyon.

Being a registered charity, donation reliant and non-profit making organisation,
visyon would have to take into account the purpose of any such request for information and the time, effort and costs involved in providing it, advising any enquirer accordingly.

Computer Automated Information Gathering

IP Address - some elements of the visyon web site where personal information is supplied may automatically cause the downloading of the IP address of the computer used to upload said information to visyon. This practice is to reduce or eliminate abusive or inappropriate uploads in that the IP address can reveal the details of the geographical location of a computer and the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for that machine allowing visyon to report any offensive computer use to that ISP.

Cookies - These are small text files found on the user's browser and hard drive that uniquely identifies the user's browser. There are two types of cookies currently in use - persistent cookies and session cookies. Session cookies are temporary files and are automatically erased when the browser is closed and the programme exited. Persistent cookies remain on the user's computer hard drive until the user either erases them manually or, where time sensitive, they expire.

All internet browsers - Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, Netscape Navigator, Camino, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc. have the facility to remove, block or accept cookies, normally in the browser's preferences. visyon's server generates cookies.
