support VISYON this christmas
Children and young people who are struggling with their mental health shouldn’t have to face their problems alone this Christmas.
Can you help us reach them?
It’s been a year like no other and mental health support for young people has never been more crucial. The number of children that need our help increases every winter and this year, the extra isolation caused by Covid lockdowns means that more children than ever may need mental health help. Visyon cannot support all the children that need our services without your help.
Could you give a gift of £12 to help us to reach a child who’s struggling?
Will you help children like Thomas when they feel they have no-one to turn to?
12-year-old Thomas* is a boy who felt unsafe; he was sad and worried about being in school, then a break-in at his home made him frightened to be away from his house. Thomas’s mental health was suffering - he was struggling to control his emotions, getting angry, arguing with his parents and threatening to harm himself.
Thomas came to Visyon for weekly 1-1 therapy sessions with his specially-trained counsellor Jenny*, so he could explore his feelings and feel supported in a safe space. With Jenny’s help he’s less anxious, managing much better in school and feeling happier at home. Through listening to him and guiding him through coping strategies, Visyon has helped him overcome his biggest fear.
Thomas is one of the hundreds of children Visyon has helped with their mental health this year. Can you help us continue to support as many children, young people and their families as we can?
Visyon helps children from all walks of life across Cheshire and Staffordshire, who are struggling with their mental health. Some have experienced trauma, financial hardship or bereavement, some have witnessed domestic violence or substance misuse, and others are struggling with the sense of isolation that the pandemic has caused.
Your generous donation will show children and young people that their mental health matters.
Thank you for caring about them.
