SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

WHAT'S ON

Visyon are now offering a full range of face to face, telephone and online services. Whilst we are still providing some support remotely, our offer has changed slightly so that we are acting in line with government guidance.

Wellbeing Groups

We will be releasing schedules here https://www.visyon.org.uk/groups so that you can stay up to date with what’s going on.

Open Access

Any young person (11+) or parent can call us if they need a space to talk, no issue is too small and it does not have to be Covid related. We are here to listen call us on 01260 290000, text on 07508074748 or email: administration@visyon.org.uk. We have open access appointments available at various times and days in the week so will work to find one that fits.

Practical Strategies Webinars

We offer webinars for young people aged 11+ on a range of topics relevant to mental health. These can increase your knowledge and give practical tips to help manage emotions and stress.  See below for the timetable of live webinars and some recordings that are available to watch

Counselling and Mentoring referrals

We are accepting new clients into our one-to-one counselling and mentoring services, following a temporary closure of our waiting lists.  During this period, we have worked hard alongside our commissioners to introduce new processes and gain additional funding.

If you would like to access our one-to-one support, then just call us on 01260 290000 and we will talk you through the next steps.  We only accept referrals where the child or young person has given their consent and we ask for the referral to come from either the parent/ carer or the young person themselves.

Please help us to be able to see people as quickly as possible by attending all your arranged appointments, or by providing as much notice as possible if you need to cancel.  If your situation changes and you no longer require a service, please call us to make us aware.

If you're a child or young person living in Cheshire East we will try our best to support you the best way we can! Whether that's by supporting you ourselves, or pointing you in the direction of someone who would be able to help you more than we could.

This service is not suitable if a young person is in immediate or imminent risk to themselves or others.

For urgent mental health support please call your local 24/7 Mental Health Helpline – Cheshire 0800 145 6485 https://www.mymind.org.uk/crisis-support/, or Staffordshire 0800 0 328 728 (OPTION 1) https://www.combined.nhs.uk/howto-access-us-in-a-crisis/

You should still call 999 or go to A&E if you have an immediate, life-threatening emergency requiring mental or physical health assistance.

our practical strategies webinars:

Our Practical Strategies Webinars are intended for you to find out information and ideas about managing some of the “uncomfortable” emotions which so many of us experience and which are so common during the teenage years. They are available and free for young people aged 11+ living in Cheshire East. The webinars are around 30 minutes long and are available as recorded sessions (see link below).  We hope to be able to offer live webinars again in the Spring so watch this space for more info on that.

We have a webinar library including the following topics:   Understanding and Managing Anxiety, Understanding and Managing Anger, Self Esteem, Understanding the Teenage Brain, School Stress, Introduction to Mental Health First Aid and Improving Sleep.

The recorded webinars can be accessed here.

If you would like to discuss any of these topics and how they are impacting on you please feel free to contact us on 01260 290000 to book an Open Access phonecall where you can get more support and ideas that might help.

Your opinions and feedback are so important to us. Please complete this short survey to help us improve our service.
